60 Would You Rather Questions (Funny, Hard and Kid-Friendly)

September 2, 2026

Would You Rather works because it forces a choice and then a defence. The best questions have no easy answer, so the conversation does the heavy lifting. Here are sixty, grouped by the room you are in.

Funny and light

  • Would you rather always say everything on your mind, or never be able to speak again?
  • Would you rather fight one horse-sized duck, or a hundred duck-sized horses?
  • Would you rather have fingers as long as legs, or legs as long as fingers?
  • Would you rather sweat maple syrup, or cry orange juice?
  • Would you rather talk to animals, or speak every human language?
  • Would you rather always be ten minutes late, or always twenty minutes early?
  • Would you rather have a rewind button, or a pause button for your life?
  • Would you rather never use social media, or never watch a film again?
  • Would you rather be able to fly, or be invisible (but only when nobody is looking)?
  • Would you rather have unlimited free pizza, or unlimited free travel?

Genuinely hard

  • Would you rather know how you die, or when you die?
  • Would you rather be the funniest person in the room, or the smartest?
  • Would you rather lose all your old memories, or never make new ones?
  • Would you rather be famous but broke, or rich but unknown?
  • Would you rather always know the truth, or always be believed?
  • Would you rather have a job you love that pays little, or a job you hate that pays well?
  • Would you rather give up music, or give up film and television?
  • Would you rather relive one perfect day forever, or get one brand-new perfect day each year?
  • Would you rather be feared, or be ignored?
  • Would you rather fix one mistake from your past, or guarantee one success in your future?

Clean rounds for kids

  • Would you rather be able to breathe underwater, or fly like a bird?
  • Would you rather have a pet dragon, or a pet dinosaur?
  • Would you rather eat only pizza, or only ice cream, for a month?
  • Would you rather live in a treehouse, or a castle?
  • Would you rather be the best at one sport, or pretty good at all of them?
  • Would you rather have a robot helper, or a magic backpack?
  • Would you rather be able to talk to dogs, or to cats?
  • Would you rather travel to the past, or to the future?
  • Would you rather have super strength, or super speed?
  • Would you rather live on the moon, or under the sea?

More to keep it going

Each of the lists above can be doubled, tripled or remixed. If you run out mid-game, a generator keeps an endless, non-repeating supply coming so nobody has to invent a question on the spot โ€” which is usually where the game stalls.

How to run it well

  1. Go round the circle so everyone answers, not just the loudest.
  2. Ask "why?" after each choice โ€” the reasoning is the fun part.
  3. Keep it optional; some prompts get personal, so let people pass.
  4. Mix easy and hard questions to control the energy.
  5. Use a spinner or picker to choose who answers if the group is large.
